What is Business Context?
Business Context lets you connect your organizational health data to what actually matters — your value creation plan, strategic priorities, and financial targets.
Without Business Context, your Key Findings surface organizational health gaps ranked by severity. That's useful, but it doesn't tell you which gaps threaten your specific priorities.
With Business Context, the AI maps every finding to your value creation drivers and quantifies the risk in terms that matter to your thesis. Instead of "Communication scores are below benchmark," you get: "Communication breakdown threatens your $704M Labor Optimization driver — the two functions responsible both show low confidence to deliver."
What documents should I upload?
The best documents give the AI visibility into your strategic priorities and financial targets. These include board decks or investor updates, value creation plans (VCP), strategic or 100-day plans, financial summaries with target KPIs, investment thesis or deal memos, and annual operating reviews.
You don't need all of these — even a single board deck with your top 3–5 priorities will meaningfully improve your Key Findings.
How to add Business Context
Navigate to your Survey → Edit Survey → Business Context
Click + Add context
Select your file (PDF, PPTX, DOCX, or TXT — up to 25MB)
Review the extracted priorities in the preview and edit or add any that were missed
Click Confirm to save
Your Business Context is now attached. The next time Key Findings are generated, they'll incorporate your strategic priorities. You can view your attached context at any time in the Business Context section of Edit Survey, where you'll see options to Change or Remove the document.
Requesting documents from leadership
Don't have the board deck or VCP yourself? You can request it directly from the platform.
Click Send Request to Leadership on the Business Context page
Enter the leadership email (e.g., CEO or CFO)
The system sends a secure email with a private upload link — no account needed
Once uploaded, documents automatically appear in your report and trigger AI analysis
Note: Upload links expire after 7 days.
Security & privacy
All uploads are encrypted and ISO 27001 certified. By default, documents are deleted after analysis — only the AI synthesis is retained. You can choose to keep documents for re-analysis using the retention toggle, though kept documents are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Password-protected files cannot be processed; please upload an unprotected version.
How Business Context improves each assessment type
Organizational Health (OHB): Maps capability gaps to specific value creation drivers, showing which VCP line item is at risk and how much value is exposed.
Value Creation Plan (VCP): Connects leadership confidence scores to specific financial targets, highlighting where low confidence aligns with high-dollar drivers.
360 Assessments (Coming Soon): Will map individual leadership strengths and development areas to the strategic scorecard.
Tips for best results
Be specific — a board deck that names "grow EBITDA by 40% through sales productivity" gives the AI far more to work with than one that says "improve financial performance." Include dollar amounts where possible, update your context when priorities shift, and remember: one document is enough to start.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Business Context across multiple assessments? Business Context is currently attached per report. If you run both OHB and 360 for the same company, add context to each separately.
What if the AI doesn't extract my priorities correctly? You'll see a preview before confirming. You can edit extracted priorities or add ones that were missed before saving.
Can I regenerate Key Findings after adding context? Yes — after adding or updating Business Context, regenerate your Key Findings from the report page to incorporate the new context.
What if my document has no clear strategic priorities? The system will notify you: "No strategic priorities detected." You can then add them manually in the text area provided.
Who can see the Business Context I upload? Anyone with access to the report. If uploading sensitive documents, use the "Delete after analysis" option so only the synthesis is retained.
