For an introductory overview on how to generate standard survey reports in the Entromy platform, please see the article: How do I download Discussion Materials?

The following sets of instructions will show you how to generate Discussion Materials reports, by using special features available in the Entromy platform.

How to Compare One or More Surveys

If your organization has run multiple surveys in the past, you can compare the surveys with one another. This shows score increase/decrease indicators from previous survey in the report (see example below):

Go to Reports > Discussion Materials. The platform may automatically identify a similar survey from the previous period and 'Compare' the survey results. Be sure you review your surveys selected and adjust the 'Compare' toggle as needed. The platform also displays the survey start month and year along with the survey name to make it easier to identify you surveys.

Click on “Apply filters” and you will see the ‘Total number of invited participants after filter’ update when hovering over the surveys selected. You can now generate the report via PPT and/or XLS upon selecting 'Export'.

If there are no previous surveys to compare to, nothing will show here. If you do not want to include a comparison in your report output, you can always toggle OFF the 'Compare' function.

How to Generate a Report with a Filter Applied

You can pull reports that are focused on specific ‘sub-groups’ (manager, location, department) by selecting the desired filters. Your available dimensions and corresponding values will be dependant upon the user file leveraged for the survey you are exporting the report for.

Go to Reports > Discussion Materials. On the left, select the survey you’d like to generate a report for. Select the Filters textbox and select 'Create New' - Enter the name of the filter, the dimension the filter will be created from, and the dimension value.

In the example below, the user wanted to generate a report for the Department called “IT” and accomplished this using the filter criteria below.

Please note: If you create a filter and select 'Apply' but no data generates, this means there are not enough responses to meet the threshold. For sake of protecting participant anonymity and privacy, Entromy's platform will not display insights for filtered reports that do not have enough responses to meet the survey threshold.

How to Compare Multiple Surveys by a Dimension (‘Sub-Group’)

If you would like to compare different ‘sub-groups’ against each other on the same survey, you can also do that.

Go to Reports > Discussion Materials. Select the same survey in the top and bottom ‘Survey’ fields on the left side as shown below.

On the left, select the survey you’d like a report on, and on the right, select the filters you wish to create the report for. In the example below, the user wanted to generate a report comparing the Genders “Females” with the Gender “Males” from within the same survey.

Click on “Apply filters” and generate the report via PPT and/or XLS upon selecting 'Export'.

How to Generate Combined Report for One or More Surveys

It may be helpful to combine surveys into a single report. This may be useful in situations where multiple, very similar, surveys ran simultaneously (various reasons include having to launch surveys with subtle question set changes for different groups, etc.).

Go to Reports > Discussion Materials. In the top left field under surveys, select all the surveys you’d like to combine into the report. Select 'Apply' and generate the combined report via PPT and/or XLS upon selecting 'Export'.

You also can generate bulk reports if, for example, you’d like to pull separate reports on various ‘sub-groups’ all at once: See How to generate bulk reports
