Here are definitions for the column headers you'll see in each of Entromy's question file templates:

Field

Description

Question Text

The question text contains the text that survey takers will see when accessing the survey.

Key Terms

A shorter summary of the full text for dashboard-level reporting. Key terms are 2 to 5 word phrases that summarize the general themes of the question.

For example, the key term for the question, “I am engaged in my role,” might be “Engagement.” The use of key terms helps with final reporting, and allows for higher-level summaries on key issues.

Category

Indicating a category helps to enhance the survey reporting results. When reporting is complete, the executive materials will group questions into key categories, which will allow for additional insights and breakouts of performance based on key themes.

Available categories currently include “Leadership,” “Communication,” “Collaboration,” and other high-level groupings. To see a list of current categories available, see the current FAQ link: What question categories are currently available?

To add new categories, please reach out to Entromy support.

Question Types

The question type specifies the formatting for the question. The most common question types are ‘fixed answer,' 'statement,' and 'list select'. 'Sections' allow for meaningful breaks for the survey respondent.

To learn more about question types, see the FAQ: What are question types?
