On the Entromy platform, every user record has a Status, which is set to either Active, Inactive, or Deleted.

Active status means the user will be able to receive survey notifications, participate in surveys, and log in to the Entromy platform, if permission has been granted. Learn more about permissions here.

Inactive status means the user will not be able to receive notifications from the Entromy platform, participate in surveys, or log in to the platform.

Deleted status will remove the user record from your user list entirely; the record will need to be re-entered if saved with a Status of "Deleted".

Use case example:

If you have a small subset of users you'd like to exclude from your initial survey launch (in other words, delaying the survey launch notification for this subset), you can exclude them by setting their user record Status to Inactive. This means that while these users will remain included in the appropriate group, they won't actually receive the survey launch notification.

To set a user to Inactive status:

1. Navigate to the user management page here: https://live.entromy.com/settings/users

2. Search for the user(s) in question, then click on the user record:

3. Change the Status field to "Inactive" then click Save.

When your survey launches, inactive users will be withheld from receiving launch notifications or participating in your survey.

To re-activate a user and send the survey notification:

1. Repeat the steps above, setting the Status field to "Active"

2. Click the Manage button in the top navigation menu, then click the User icon as shown:

3. Search for the user(s) in question, select the Wrench icon, then click "Send survey" to send a survey notification to the user(s):
